Probiotics are called by many different names, such as acidophilus, beneficial flora, good bacteria etc… In the colon reside billions of bacteria mostly good. When we take antibiotics, consume to much refined and processed foods, over indulge in coffee, sweets or alcohol, or use laxatives to often our population of beneficial bacteria can suffer greatly causing an imbalance in the colon. Constipation, gas, bloating, lowered immune response and many more symptoms can arise. A nasty little fungus called Candida Albicans can really cause problems and start to multiply leading to yeast over growth as many people call it. This is serious business and has been one of the most prevalent problems in my area. I feel we are more susceptible in the south because of the high humidity and lack of cellulose (an enzyme found in raw foods that break down Candida) in the diet. People around here eat lots of cooked foods. But this seems to be a growing problem around the U.S. also. Pharmaceutical drugs used to treat Candida overgrowth can cause the fungus to mutate and become resistant to the drug. Probiotics are on of the main supplements used against Candida overgrowth.
A super powered probiotic called Primal Defense made by Garden Of Life is really making its way to the top in the fight against Candida. It is one of the broadest spectrum probiotics that I have ever seen and many of my customers have passed parasites using just this one product, which shows you the strength of it. I have never seen someone pass parasites alone with one probiotic, it usually takes strong herbal killers such as wormwood, black walnut, cloves etc… Depending on the extent of the Candia overgrowth you may not need the Primal Defense.
Candida overgrowth is nothing to play around with. Diet changes are a must. Stop eating all sugars, fruits, and grains immediately. You should eat fresh veggies and lean, clean, free range meats if possible. After six weeks some people can add green granny smith apples to their diet. You can take all the probiotics and yeast killing supplements you want, but if you do not change your diet you will not get better. I have seen hundreds of people spend thousands of dollars only to come to a dead end because they did not get strict with their diet. The yeast overgrowth diet is harder to follow than a cancer diet, but it has to be done if you want to get better. It is kind of like starving out cockroaches you cannot give them even a bit of food. Yeast thrives in an acid environment and feed on sugars and carbohydrates. While you are on the diet you do not need to drink any chlorinated water or coffee because this kills the good bacteria that you are trying to re-establish.
